Aberrant Capitalism: The Decay and Revival of Customer Capitalism with Hunter Hastings

Episode Summary

In "Aberrant Capitalism: The Decay and Revival of Customer Capitalism," Hunter Hastings explores the critical issues facing modern capitalism and its departure from customer-focused principles. He argues that many of the criticisms directed at capitalism stem not from the system itself, but from the way corporations have evolved, prioritizing shareholder value over customer needs. This shift has led to a tarnished reputation for capitalism, characterized by inequality and disillusionment among younger generations. Hunter Hastings proposes a return to "customer capitalism," advocating for a new model he calls "entrepreneurial management" that integrates entrepreneurship with effective management practices to restore focus on customer value. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in understanding the future of capitalism and how it can better serve society.
